LabCo Scientific Introduces Food Garden for Staff
LabCo Scientific Food Garden!
Not only does research show that green/natural spaces improve mental well-being in the workplace, increase productivity and creativity, this garden will also process all of our food waste. This reduces our environmental impact and provides free fertiliser for our garden.
Soon, staff at LabCo Scientific will be able to enjoy fresh, work-grown salads for lunch, made with ingredients straight from our on-site food garden. The garden features edible flowers and herbs, which not only serve as natural pest repellents but also provide delicious additions for herbal teas. Staff can also pick fresh herbs to take home and enhance their meals, bringing a little piece of the garden to their dinner tables. It’s all part of our effort to promote healthy eating, sustainability, and a stronger sense of community.
Food WasteFood waste is processed in either our Bokashi bin (meat, dairy, fresh or cooked foods) or placed straight into our new compost bins (fresh uncooked food waste). The outcome is free fertiliser for our garden - it's a win-win!!! |
